Title: Pops on over run etc
Post by: jaceyboy on 15 March 2021, 14:55
Has anyone managed to get pops and crackles from a MK7 GTi manual?, I get a few when the car breaks traction but wondered if there is anyway to get them normal driving under throttle?, I have a resonator delete but that's it

On my TCR the only way to get them is using sport mode but with it being dsg it's probably easier to do them. In the four years I had my manual GTi pp it never once popped even in sport mode.

Did you have a res delete though?, because it does pop but only when traction breaks which is when I guess fuel is cut to the engine and then squirted back in again?

No, no res delete. Have you tried hard acceleration and then lifting off the throttle to create over run?

Not really, guess it needs to be baking hot too

I thought the only time you'd get it would be on over run.... give it some, then come hard off the throttle.

Honestly its odd, it happens when it wheel spins and the traction control cuts in

Sounds good eh! Lol

Booked in for Revo stage 1 on Friday, I wonder if it will be any different sounding.

Considered getting the car tuned and perhaps adding a little burble?
