you have a digifant engine with electronic injection, as opposed to early 8v's that had k-jet mechanical injection

you get more mpg but less throttle reponse when compared to the k-jet

grab a haynes manual to fill you in on all the details of it, not sure of the bhp, think its 112-115bhp

so it is slower than k-jet?

according to manual it's 8v digifant 107bhp with a catalytic converter, but it goes very well, it does 0-60 in 8 secs, i've checked it by myself, i think it's better than the old k-jet

RD engine in MK2 golf on Kjet = 107 hp
PB engine in MK2 golf on digifant =112 hp
PF engine in MK2 golf on digifant = 107 hp
If your car is a '90, you could "de cat" and prob get that power back as you do'nt need it for the emission test on the "MOT".

i think my cat is not working, cause the inside parts were taken off, now it's just an empty device attached to the exhaust system. Does it mean i have 112bhp, not 107?

By the way it still drives very economic, about 55mpg round the city
