Hi Folks,
Just wondering if anyone had the RHD part number for 5G1061270 AHY, the luxury mats that were an option on the car with the red stripe and small GTI badge on them? I had the white ones with golf on them in my GTD and would love the red set this time.
Cheers
Willy

These are really difficult to get hold of!
I got lucky and managed to bag a set from the 'for sale' section on here.
When you quote this part number to a dealer, they'll tell you they are plain black and they don't come with a red pin strip and GTi badge (well, mine did!)

Good luck on your quest!!!

Thanks! It's so weird they're so readily available for the LHD cars but not RHD, just more cost cutting for a smaller RHD market.

I saw them on Kunzmann ages ago and thought 'yes; get them ordered!!' and then thought bugger; they ain't gonna fit :embarrassed:

Still on the search for these, just wondered if you quote the full number and end letters to the dealer will they come red?

Have tried myself for these mats all the local vow garages in ni no joy

Managed to source a set of these mats today locally not cheap but look well compared to the plain black ones

Just out of interest, what is the going rate for these now? Are they only available secondhand?
I took mine out some time ago to store them and use rubber mats instead!

I'll buy them off you for a tenner

Anybody tried Diamond Car Mats, they look impressive but at the price I would hesitate to buy without knowing how good they are.

I took the carpet mats out of my car the day I picked it up from the dealer and put some VW rubber mats in. Hard wearing, easy to wipe clean and always come up looking like new after a quick wipe over.
IMHO VW carpet mats aren’t particularly hard wearing and in wet, snowy / slushy weather or muddy conditions, they’re not that practical either. I also quite like the slightly utilitarian look of the OEM rubber mats too.
-
My used Golf didn't come with any sadly so I bought some from Amazon for £13 which seem fine.

I'd agree any kind of hard heeled shoe destroys the VW carpet mats in a week. I used to use my Weathertech mats for most of the year and carpet in the summer, but carpet just seem to get dirty after nothing now compared to rubber.

www.maxxcarmats.com seem to sell the exact same mats but a lot cheaper?
They do look nice though.

If you type 'Diamond car mat review' into YouTube there's some videos on there. Obviously won't be for the exact website but you can get an idea of what that style of car mat is like

They look identical, good find there thanks, may take a punt at them.
@Lordie, never even thought of YouTube, will take a look. Thanks.

Take it you used the part number from earlier in the thread? I ask because I'll just use them since I'm also in NI. I'm assuming around the £130 mark?
-
Yes used the code on previous link. Eddie mays Portadown was the garage and just over what you said price wise Will use those ones summertime and the ordinary mats when the autumn comes back in more than likely They just add wee touch to the interior and go well with the arts velour seats imo

Just seen these on ebay - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Golf-GTI-floor-mats-Red-piping-GTI-badge-Taken-from-a-TCR/114734311965?hash=item1ab6b2aa1d:g:kl0AAOSwuiNgVhWm&redirect=mobile

For anyone looking forward and can't get them, the mk8 mats fit the mk7 and they have the same design, just not GTI tag.
Changed the mats in my car today for a set with a more prominent red border. Genuine VW from Deutsche Parts UK.

Thanks for that link. I just bought a set and they are excellent.

Those mats look lovely. I've been looking at rubber mats lately, because my standard ones are getting a bit battered with the winter, but these do look very very good :embarrassed:

I always use rubber mats in my car as I don’t find VW carpet mats to be that great - durability or quality-wise.
-
I bought a set of VW rubber mats a couple of months back and would recommend them. I prefer carpet mats but given the state the rubber ones are currently in, I'm very glad I have them!
-
Thanks for the tip. I can confirm these are fantastic and a 100% size and shape match with my original MK7.5 mats.
They may have taken away the GTI logo but we now get red stitching.
Free next-day delivery makes them even more tempting :)

Here’s the part number for the mats to be certain you order correctly.

I was in my local VW dealer this morning- Peter Cooper Chichester and asked about the GTI mats- part no 5G2-863-011-B-0QV, mentioned in an earlier post. He confirmed they were discontinued in Sept last year. Looks ike the Mk 8 mats for me at replacement time, or some rubber mats for the front, which take the most use.

How about getting the GTI tag off the old mats stitched into the new ones?
I'm making mine last longer now by using the rubber mats most of the time.

I bought a set of the Mk8 mats last week courtesy of this thread and link. Superb service saw free delivery less than 24 hrs after ordering.
They are v nice indeed and supplier commented they have sold quite a few sets to Mk7 owners.
As my car is 4yrs old in two weeks and I am going to keep it (for a change), I decided this would be a nice wee birthday present.
I tend to use Golf rubber mats in the front between Nov and Feb and the velour ones March to Oct. Salt and grit are the great enemies!! Plenty of both used where I live.
The new mats will freshen up the interior look as the 4 yr old velour is getting worn, espec drivers side.
Now all I have to do is tell my wife what I’ve done!
