Title: 7.5 wings on a Mk7
Post by: GTI_Daz on 23 November 2020, 20:16
Hi. Sorry if this is a daft question. Got the chance of getting some widened arches/wings from a mk7.5 but the question is will they fit on my mk7 PP? Thanks in advance

According to the official VW press release when the mk7.5 Golf was launched, the front wings on the mk7.5 are different to those on the mk7, so they’re unlikely to fit. See reply #483 in the discussion thread at the link below;

yes you can fit them....

so long as you also fit the bumper & headlights from the MK7.5...& then have fun repining & coding the headlights as they swapped the wiring loom around on the later headlights...

Yes, as you say it can be done, but IMO not worth the hassle. I can remember reading on another forum of someone who wanted to fit a either a mk7 front bumper to a mk7.5 or a mk7.5 front bumper to a mk7 and they found it wasn’t a straight swap; wings and headlights also needed changing.

Putting the Mk7.5 bumper on a Mk7 bumper also could create issues with the ACC sensor.

7.5 GTE has the sensor in the lower grille, but on all other 7.5's it's behind the VW emblem in the upper grille.
