In my previous Golf I'm used to being able to turn the auto dipping rear mirror on and off.
Does the GTi have it permanently switched on?
I can't find any button or green light on the rear mirror.
Plus does the auto dip also affect the drivers mirror (used to having this on my Mk5)?
-
In my Mk7 there is a black button on the bottom of the rear view mirror which toggles this on and off which in turn switches the green light on and off on the mirror itself

Thanks, that's what I was used to on my MK5, I've had a good look on my 7.5 and can't feel anything yet.
Does yours also make the drivers door mirror dip?
-
It doesn't phyiscally dip, it electronically tints.
I don't think you can control it on the Mk7.5.... and why would you ever turn it off?
And the drivers door mirror does the same.

Based on reply #5 in the post at the link below, the design of the rear view mirror to remove the button and green illuminated on/off indicator happened sometime in 2016 - possibly from the start of production of model year 2017 cars. Presumably a cost cutting measure as I dare say it’s cheaper for VW to use a mirror without the functionality to manually override the auto dimming feature.

Sorry, not sure about the drivers door mirror.

Thanks all, yes I meant dimming as apposed to dipping.
I was just going by my manual which still shows the green light and doesn't mention that on certain models it's included but can't be turned off.
There seem to be quite few things on the Mk7 which I'm finding have gone form having the option of off/on to just permanently on.
