Title: Replacing fuel flap actuator?
Post by: Rob_benton on 13 October 2020, 12:51
Hi. I need to replace my actuator. Has anyone ever done this? The videos I’ve seen show I need to remove the boot interior trim to access the wiring plug. Once I remove the bits from the fuel filler hole, Can I access the wiring plug from the fuel filler externally by reaching in ? Thanks

I have done it, it is pretty straightforward but no, you can't access the electric plug from outside.

Bugger.
Any tips on removing the interior trim. I’ve watched videos and looked at Workshop manual but not very clear.

Thanks

It wasn't that long ago that I did it but I can't remember too much about it now :embarrassed:. But it was easy, the plastic panel at the top I think had one screw and some clips but I don't think it needed removing, just loosening a bit so that the soft material lining could be pulled down and out of the way. I do seem to recall the interior light fitting coming out making things easier but tbh, online videos should have enough information. 15-20 minutes should be enough. If anything else comes to me I'll post it.
