Folks, I was wondering if anyone had had the seat bolster disintegrating and more importantly did you mange to get it fixed under warranty or fobbed off by the stealers? My drivers seat outer bolster has been dropping small bits onto the rear carpet for some months now  and I have my last chance shortly to get it fixed under the initial warranty if possible.

Wow,3 year old-has the outer material worn through?
Would they not class it as wear and tear?
I always wanted to put a good set of R32 seats in my mk 5,but every set I looked at,without exception had damage to the drivers bolster.
Hope this is not something else I have to keep an eye on.

Had my passenger bolster do the same. The dealer tried to blame the passengers getting in and out of the car wrong. Told them not to talk so much crap as it is not used half as much as the drivers side.
They did fix it under warranty, but it had to go back a couple of times to get it right as it looked awful under the fabric.

I understood From @Al1040’s post that it was the foam bolster under the fabric cover that was disintegrating, not the the fabric cover over the foam that had worn.
@Al1040; there are one or two threads on the mk7 forum board relating to driver seat base bolster issues and getting them fixed under warranty. If you use the advanced search function, you should be able to find them. You may find some dealers are more accommodating than others in submitting a warranty claim to VW on your behalf, so be prepared to try a second dealer if your usual dealer won’t assist.

If the seat cloth has worn through, you have no chance, if the bolster is disintegrating or has moved underneath an intact seat cloth then it should be fixed under warranty. Had a claim in myself on a MK5 Golf and it was sorted. The alignment of the underwired seat cover took a few goes to get right.

Thanks all, the materiel is fine. It is the foam that is being deposited on the floor behind the seat so is getting out from somewhere. I have it booked in on the 28th with VW lookers so we shall see what they have to say for themselves. It is in writing now and I have pictures from the last few months of the foam prior to giving it a clean.
