hi there I was driving home this morning and the diesel coil light was flashing the car also went into limp mode any ideas got the car booked in on Thursday cheers

Could be any of a number of things. When it happened to my Octavia it was a faulty pressure boost sensor.
A simple fix, they're about £30 but it needs to be diagnosed first.

fingers crossed that's all it is ,I've heard it could be the heater plugs

just had vds diagnostics its the fuel pump and control module apparently its burned out and its quite common , and there's been no recall either from vw , I wonder why lol

That's a real shame mossy69, hope it doesn't cost too much to fix... I have not heard about that being a general problem do you have any more details?

Unfortunately, being a quite common fault doesn’t make it a recall action. Leaking water pumps and thermostat housings are also quite common issues on the mk7 Golf but VW won’t cover the cost of replacing them unless the car is under warranty. A fault is only likely to be the subject of a recall unless it’s considered to represent a safety-related risk.
Hope you get it fixed soon and it’s not too costly.
