Title: Rear lights go brighter when FRONT fogs are on
Post by: martin998877 on 24 September 2020, 09:56
Now it's dark, I was sitting at traffic lights, no-one behind, a street sign behind was glowing red due to the auto brakes, I pulled the handbrake switch and the red glow went, as the HB switch turns the rear brake lights off.

Still bored I thought I'd test the rear fog - I pulled the light swich out two clicks, yes the sign went red again as expected.

however I then pushed the switch in one click, so just front fogs were on, and the sign was still red - though less red than with the rear fog. I pushed it in and it went back to dark.  My curiosity was aroused.

I've got out and looked now.  Normal auto headlights lights on, the rear LED lights are on, normal brightness.
Front fogs on - the rear lights go quite a bit brighter.
front + rear fogs - the rear offside fog light comes on too.
brake pedal pressed - the rear lights are all bright and the central brake light too.

Does anyone else have the rear lights go brighter when the front fogs are on?

I was tempted (since a bit bored) to go and try this out, luckily I remembered, I don't have front fog lights! So, no idea, sorry.

Interesting one. Certainly makes sense and a nice touch if it is that way on all of them. I’ll give it a go tomorrow lol
