Post by: sunbeamgls on 03 September 2020, 23:12
Just a couple of shots of my Indium Grey GTI Performance with its new wheels, replacing the Parkers.

Look nice - what are they?, powder coated or diamond cut?.

My brother in law came around the other day to show me his new Tiguan (nice car) and promptly scraped one of his DC wheels on the high kerb outside my house, my sister commented ‘we can just buy a new wheel trim’ 😳

They're silver powder coated. I'm hoping they'll last a lot longer than diamond cuts which, for me, look too scruffy, too quickly.

Just realised I haven't said what they are. Doh!

Cades Artemis 18x8 in silver powder coat.

The design looks cool but it does make the wheels look smaller than 18s. And have you got some bags of sand in the boot as looks a bit high at the front or is it just how you have parked?!

They're available in 19s but permission from my lease company isn't.

Its just the shape of the potholes in that parking space :)

It is low at the back. Perhaps it was a stop off point on the way to bury the last person to criticise the car!

Wheels are a very personal thing which is why manufacturers always play it safe with slight variations as if they put the wrong wheels on it can put people off the whole car!

I can't decide really on this.

On one hand, those are "classic GTI heritage look" wheels, definitely its a GTI with those on it.

On the other hand, its not the modern look of a GTI, which is all laser cut wheels (love it or hate it)

A bit like putting horse brasses up in your Huf Haus

Sorry if thats a bit savage, just try read this calmly.

Wheels always subjective. Hopefully you have some decent wheel cleaning products

They look a lot easier to clean than Santiagos! They look good to me.

I like them but needs to be lowered for the full look as they do appear smaller than they are and needs the drop to fully compliment them.

No problem at all. If we all liked the same thing it would be a bit dull. If you prefer the Parkers and the machined wheels that's your preference. We just don't agree, that's all.
