I know there is a Parts Number thread with which I am well acquainted.
But more specifically, I would value the opinions of those who have fitted this, those that thought about it but did not and those that have simply seen one fitted on a non TCR car and have an opinion.
What are the pros and cons .....apart from the price..... and does anyone have buyer’s remorse now?
I think the black lip would look v good on my Indium Grey roof.....I just need the courage to do it.
And finally....as I plan to keep my 2019 car until at least 2022, does anyone think the spoiler would damage the value of the car, or is life to short for that s**t?
Please help a nervous adopter!

There’s another thread all about this with a few photos. I’d read that first.
I was very quick to buy the spoiler as soon as the number was available. I do not mod my cars at all but it’s the best thing I’ve added. Never ever regret it. It’s one of those things that I always look at when getting in or out of my car. Had loads of comments on it and as it’s a genuine part it just looks factory finished.
It’d look great on indium imo.
Don’t think, just do it.
-
With the exception of wheels, I don’t change the looks of my cars as I prefer the OEM look. However, having said that, if there were OEM styling accessories that I liked and I thought they would enhance the car’s appearance, and the cost of those parts were acceptable to me, I’d go for it!
I think a TCR roof spoiler would look good on an Indium Grey GTI Performance and I think you should do it. As you’ve said, life’s too short to worry about the ifs, buts and maybes, so if you’ve got that TCR roof spoiler itch, you should scratch it.
Be sure to post up some pictures of it fitted if you do get one .

It does look good once fitted (GTIP) and i get loads of people stopping me when i am parked up asking me where can they get one / price etc, so it is quite popular.

REPLY
Thanks for the three rapid and positive replies so far. Just to save any other posters telling me, I have read every page of the existing thread on the TCR spoiler part number and looked at the pics. Anyone got a pic of one on an Indium Grey car by the way?

If you like it, do it! I'm fairly sure I'd have added it to my PP had I kept it. I think it's the perfect finishing touch bar the CS rear spoiler. At the risk of a small loss, just buy it and trial fit to see if you like it (I bet you will) and if no good I doubt you'll have much bother in selling it on
-
Thanks Watts.... that’s actually a great suggestion.

I'll be adding it to my PP Gti as soon as i can souce one, my dealership is supposed to be getting me one...Life is too short, go for it
-
I’ve never been adverse to modding so I’m 100% for just doing it. Think it’s a perfect addition and a huge plus being an OE part.
I’m planning to buy one
-
I really like mine,it’s subtle and goes well with tornado red,but the price is ridiculous for what it is.
As for trial fitting,I take it you’ll just use masking tape and not drive it anywhere, because once it’s fitted I think it’ll be a struggle getting it off without damage.
-
Yeah will just loose place it, stand back and look.
Yes, it’s a ridiculous price but....
-
Yep that spoiler once fitted isn’t moving anywhere! Garage fitted mine as it was in for some work at the time. They were going to use adhesive but when they saw how well it was kept in place they didn’t bother.
Buy one. You’ll not regret it even at that ridiculous price. At least you’ll laugh when it arrives in it’s brown parcel paper packaging making you wonder what on earth you’ve done!
-
I had a laugh to myself when the parts bloke came through with mine,in it’s brown paper bag.
Then I thought ‘what’s to stop the spoiler being damaged in transit?’
He actually opened it up so I could check it before taking it.
-
Looks like a few potential customers already if you don't like it

Yeah I think the OP should just buy it and then decide to sell it to me at a very heavily discounted price being secondhand

I had a laugh at a parts man in TPS today too. My A4 has a bottle of gunk and a compressor. Recently I got an unused spacesaver off ebay and wanted the plastic tray that accommodates the jack and all the tools if you got the spacesaver as standard. It's a thin black plastic tray 80cm x 20cm x 9cm deep that fits under a hatch in the boot floor. If Ikea sold it as a cutlery drawer tray insert it'd be £2.50...TPS price is £103 + VAT.
I politely declined to place an order.
-
All this plastic is super expensive as spares.
I'm honestly not surprised that the price of the spoiler lip.
I expect the parcel shelf isn't far off that price either...
-
OK, thanks for all your encouragement. You have all convinced me to commit.
I ordered the spoiler from my local dealer this morning. They say it will be here tomorrow morning!
£241 inc vat.
Feedback to follow...... and pics if I can work out how to upload.
-
Now why can’t my dealer get me one this quick
Edit----- My dealer has sorted one and its on order
-
Aidey..... just had a call from my dealer. Spoiler is ready to collect now.
24 hrs from order to collection is pretty amazing!
VW must be wondering why so many TCRs require replacement spoilers 😂😂😂
-
That is cracking service , hopefully mine is not far behind, I will wait for your detailed fitting instructions
-
Just loose fitted it..... from 3/4 front to side view it sharpens the look in a way you would hardly believe.
Gloss black on Indium Grey looks v “tasteful” if tasteful is your thing. It’s mine!
Will fit today and update you.
Trying to work out how to post pics too.

I have been using https://imgbb.com/

Lots of fitting advice on the other p/n thread but for what it’s worth I marked each side of the spoiler with masking tape then took a long tape strip vertically down from the satnav sharks tooth on the roof over the spoiler to the rear hatch, cut the tape at the top and bottom edges of the spoiler and got a perfect reference from there.
For the life of me I can’t work out how to post images and have given up. But take it from me.... this spoiler on the back of an Indium Grey car is a truly lovely thing. So subtle, so classy.

You need to use a hosting site to post pictures such as img.org. Upload your picture then copy and paste the hotlink for forums code into your post.
Glad you're pleased with it

Have you figured out the pic hosting yet mate? want to see pics of your car

You need to paste a code into your post from photobucket. I don't use photobucket but I would think it is the IMG code. Some instructions - https://support.photobucket.com/hc/en-us/articles/200724324-Linking-and-Embedding-Images

If you are sharing from the website then click on the image and then click on the share icon (circle with 2 lines coming off it going to 2 more circles). Should get a pop up with the links in and you want the IMG one. Then just paste it into the reply as it has the hyperlink etc already.
In the app you just click on the pic and you get the links at the bottom and again just click on the IMG one.

Mine has arrived at the dealers so will pick it up one day soon, then onto fitting!!
