Title: Fine Scratch Remover
Post by: P6GTD on 13 August 2020, 20:29
I know there was some posting on this subject way back when.
But I need to get some fine scratches out of my Indium Grey. Thinking of using Meguiars Scrtatch X. Does anyone have experience of this and/ or any other recommendations please?

Depends how fine.

I usually start with Autoglym SR Polish, then Scratch X then Ultimate Compound in terms of aggressiveness of the product.

I’d recommend Scratch X. It took care of some bizarre marks near my rear diffuser.

Or if you know someone near you with a machine polisher, if the scratches are fine, a finishing polish on a light cut pad on a DA polisher will get rid of them. If not, then a slightly more aggressive combination of pax and polish will work.

Best option is a DA as has been said.

Second option is a hand polish with a very light compound. Best to start with the least impacting first and work from there. Start with meguiars ultimate polish to see if that sorts it. If not, go for meguiars ultimate compound, but then use ultimate polish after to refine and finish off. This approach has worked great for me. Then you want to wax/ seal to protect.

I used the Meguiars Swirl remover as mine was full of dealer cleaning swirls. Did a perfect job of removing them.
