Title: GTI PP Wheel change question
Post by: Youngy__5 on 22 July 2020, 11:27
Hi

I’m looking to do a wheel swap and wondering if anyone had fitted Rotiform CVT or any other 19x8.5 ET 45 on theirs?

Are there any issues with catching suspension or arches?

I’m waiting for my GTI PP to be delivered and this is my first VW.

I'm running BBS SR in 19 x 8.5 ET46 with 235/35 R19 tyres lowered on Eibach Sportline springs and apart from having to do the fender screw mod it doesn't catch at all.

Never even heard of the fender screw mod lol. Will google it now.

It's not much.

Step 1 simply involves removing the screw that goes through the wheelarch liner near where the wing meets the front bumper.

If it still rubs, tuck the arch liner behind the tab the screw went through originally and you should eliminate any rubbing up front.

Yeah I did take a look and it's straight forward. Just need to establish if it's that I get the odd rub on (might be the rear me thinks)
