Title: Mk7 golf gtd reverse lights flickering help!!

Hi someone anyone I need help! Lol past couple of weeks have a problem in my Mk7 golf gtd parking assist will keep activating And rear reverse lights flickering but when cars warm and then on the dash 10mins after driving epb fault pops up on the dash had full vcds scan and it’s coming up with reverse gear signal fault. Fault code is C109E29 searched google but no joy changed reverse light switch still no joy could someone shed some light on this please it’s driving me crazy!

If it’s a MK7 not a MK7.5, then I seem to remember the reverse lights weren’t LED from the factory and were incandescent bulbs. I’m wondering if someone has replaced them with cheap LED units without the correct ballasts integrated ?

Hi, fair point They do have cheap aftermarket ones in there but I taken them out also and still no joy, I’m at wits end, driving me crazy lol

So you are driving along and this happens? Or actually in reverse gear?

Dsg or manual?

Yeah happens when I’m driving I have park assist so that’s beeping away while driving As well and the passengers side mirror dips as if it was in reverse gear. And yes it’s a manual

There is a sensor that detects when reverse is selected, its clearly that on the blink. Where that sensor is though I don't know. Could be nice and easy at the gear leaver end or could be buried in the gearbox. Either is possible...

Yeah I have a feeling could possibly be the one on the gear leaver. As the reverse light switch Has been changed already, think I’m gonna go and take a look seen as the weathers decent today thanks for your feedback mate 👍
