Has anyone fitted this from Racingline? https://www.awesomegti.com/new-arrivals/racingline-rear-carbon-fibre-body-brace-golf-mk7/
Does it work or is it just expensive boot candy?
On a seperate note, my car seems to be building up a good selection of rear cabin rattles. Not sure where they are coming from, possibly the rear doors. Any standard ones to be aware of?
Thanks!

The metal clamps that keep the top of the seat in rattled on mine. Dealer put some felt on as a stop gap and I never went back because the rattle stopped
-
I had discounted that as shaking the seat backs didn't cause any noise. Maybe I sould drop the seat backs and see if it stops? Thanks

It's more likely tobe the clasp that the rear seat back pivots on when you put the seats down. It's a clip that holds the 2 axle pins that the 2 halves of the split seats meet up at. Had this on my 2013 GTD. Wrap axle pins in felt tape so it's not metal on metal. Or it could be those pointless lock keep covers some people buy and fit that sit in the door frame.

Interesting, thanks. I've not got the latter so I'll check out the former
I'll have to get some felt tape.
-
I would take the rear seat backs out and go for a drive before investing in some felt tape. It’s a simple job Watts, just one torx bolt, remove the clasp and take the seat rears out.
-
I'll certainly consider that, it's a good idea  I have bought some tape though, only a couple of quid.

Been outside checking for the source of the rattle, the rear seats seem fine. But the parcel shelf was very rattly and with little provocation. I've used black tape on the pivots either side and it has made a big difference. Yet to try it properly on a drive but I'm pretty confident. Not 100% sure but I think the parcel shelf feels more flexible than I recall on the MK7 and the flex was just enough to make it keep knocking at the hinges.
On the other point of this thread, anyone got any thoughts on the Racingline rear chassis brace?
-
Well the brace will certainly highlight any loose things that might rattle... Like your teeth.

That's fine, I can take them out

Two long(ish) journeys and no rattles! So it was the parcel shelf. Another example of VW pennypinching?

I've had my eye on one of these for a while but don't want to pay £400 for one. Maybe if there's enough interest we could get a group buy sorted?

It's not something for me, reviews were okay but I'm not going to spend a few hundred on it.

Those pesky rear doors....!!

Yeah, more than 3 doors on a car is an extravagance!
