Hi all. I noticed some white dust coming from the heating vents whilst driving on Saturday. Didn't think anything of it and cleaned it away on Sunday. Noticed it coming back yesterday on the way to work. Changed the pollen filter last night and it's still happening. After having a look on the internet it seems it could be corrosion from the heater matrix. The cars only over 4 years old and the last thing I want is to have to get the dash removed to replace the matrix condenser. Has anyone any experience of this ?
Thanks, Craig

Just done a matrix on a mk4 r32 absolute nightmare of a job to change a cheap part

That's what I was worried about. The price is bad enough, but I don't really want the whole dash being taken out although I know this is the only way the heater matrix or condenser can be changed.

It’s bad enough asking a technician to change a tyre never mind take the full dashboard out and put it all back together correctly

Removal is easy - getting it all back together with no scratches, creaks or rattles? That's beyond most technicians' capabilities.

Had mine replaced at a main dealer. Did a great job, not a rattle or squeek!!!!
