I have the My VW app installed on my iPad. I have created the account and it has recorded my car details on the VW system for this app. It has sections for accessory brochures, ways to sell you things, lists of the warning light icons and various guides about the car. It has a section for a digital copy of the manual for my car but it’s not there and when I try to open it I get a message that it’s unable to load. I know it’s not a workshop manual and I have the paper copy somewhere but having a digital copy would be convenient. Is there a website where I can download it? Trying to talk to VW about it will be more bother than it’s worth.
Thanks.

You can access on line manuals on VW’s website using either registration number or VIN - link below;
https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/owners/manuals
But...........it only works for cars registered after Nov 2018 on VW’s website If your car was registered earlier than this, that could explain why you can‘t access the online manual for your car from the ‘My VW’ app - assuming the app and website use the same functionality / only holds manuals for post-Nov 2018 registered vehicles.

Thanks. That might explain it, mine was registered in June 18. I tried your link, it recognises my car, allows me to search for the manual and then tells me there is no available data and suggests I contact my retailer. Ah, let me think about that. No! I guess it’s the paper version for me. :sad:

Just tried it for my car on the app - car was registered March 2016 - and it doesn’t work for me either.
Maybe someone with a post Nov ‘18 registered car who’s got the app will try to see if it works for them?

Just tried it for my March 2019 registered car and................
“Unable to load your manual” 🙁
There is a web page where I have found the manual, but I think that had the post late 2018 requirement.

Good afternoon
Just tried the link on my January 2020 registered GTI and the link worked
Not sure this will help but this is the link to the online manual

Thank you. I have tried the link but when I enter my VIN number it doesn't open. Might be the age of registration again. :sad:

I have a 2014 version. Would you say the app is worth downloading? Thanks
-
I think the short answer is no. As I said before it will give you dates of visiting VW dealers for service history, available accessories and some help and guides for your car but they are at best basic. The most useful info would be the manual but it seems only available for late 18 registered cars and onwards. I get the impression it is a basic app and a forerunner to We Connect Go or We Connect.

Discontinue the electronic manual for older vehicles.... that you already had on a webserver. I mean that makes total sense VW. I guess you saved a couple of mb of expensive disk space....
I noticed it had gone a little while back for my 2017 car.
