Hi guys and gals
Hope your all well under the current circumstances!
So this morning I woke up to find out my car had been damaged! Reviewed CCTV and saw a bin lorry reverse into the car and then drive off! Luckily the missed all the body panels and hit the rear driver side light which shattered the glass!
As it’s bank holiday I’ll contact the council on Monday
I believe the part I need is 5G0945208g
On eBay it appears to cost anywhere been £150 - £200 for a brand new part
I was wondering would it cost around the same from VW when they open and how much they would charge to fit?
-
Probably should have mentioned what car I have!!! Doh!
VW Golf GTI 245 PP (2019)

I don't know about cost but the rear lights are extremely easy to change. Is it the part on the wing or the tailgate? If you can get one yourself I'd say do it as the VW garages are going to be unavailable for some time due to the lockdown.
-
It’s the light on the wing.
I saw a couple of videos on YouTube and seems straightforward (famous last words)
Just have to see how the council want to resolve the matter when I call them on Monday

The OE part you need is this site from £118.

Imagine it’s fairly easy to replace with a few tools.

I don't recall needing any tools. Just fingers
