Hi guys
I picked up a 67 plate facelift GTI a couple of weeks ago and only just noticed on my last drive that it has a 6 speed DSG. I assumed that all facelift models came with a 7 speed?
Or was there a choice?

For the Mk7.5 it is a 7 speed on the GTI P not the 230PS version.

Did you not ask at the time

You’re not disadvantaged by having the 6 speed, it’s still a reliable box.

Indeed, it's no big deal having the 6 spd one. I've had both but the 7 spd is much smoother and would probably be able to tell straight away if I jumped back in my old car!
