The OEM cameras both lowline (static guidelines) and highline (guidelines move according to steering input) are fitted properly behind the VW badge and are only exposed when reverse gear is selected.
There are cheaper, generic options with small cameras installed near the rear number plate etc
Useful website that @Talk-Torque. Dynaudio can be retrofitted from £2k. Wow

Source the parts from Poland or Czech Republic as that's where they are made and find someone independent to fit it for you. The website mentioned earlier in the thread are very very expensive to the point it puts you off even looking. https://www.carsystems.eu/golf-7-rvc,tag.html or https://www.cars-equipment.com/en/shop/golf/

I'm sure there is a thread on here somewhere, unrelated to the topic but I'm sure they said main dealer had quoted around 450-500 for the proper camera retro fitted, might be worth a question if you're prepared to stretch that far?

I'm sure it's the same kit for Mk7 and 7.5 and the genuine retrofit kit on ebay was only about £250ish when I looked. Mine ended up coming with it already retrofitted but I have the receipt from the previous owner and VW supplied/fitted it for £480.
