Does anyone have genuine sill protectors fitted to their R?
I’m looking at getting some added and want to make sure that they are a genuine look.
-
I've got them on my GTI and i forget they're even there.
-
Are they plain or do they say ‘golf’ or ‘gti’?
-
just plain black, I'll get a picture of them for you.

I have these. They’re actually vinyl but have worked fantastically well for 9 months so far.

Cheers for the pics. These look like the ones they have pointed me towards but like to see them on a real car first.
I do like some of the aftermarket ones but want to try and keep it as standard as possible.

Anyone know what that does?
It keeps the door in place so it stands a better chance of being opened post crash.
-
I had the Lockwood International sill protectors on my last R and have just bought a set for the new one.

Hope this helps. Service was great and they’ve been very good so far.

really after some like custom one's, to colour code the car. I got a tiny dink that someone did, which just gonna be more of a headache to try & get sorted.
Want some to blend in with the colour of the car (i know they will get scuffed).
-
Might be worth looking at the Lockwood sill protectors then which are metal and taking them to VW or a specialist Paintshop with the colour code from the front of your manual and seeing what they could do.
No idea what this would cost and any scratches are going to stand out even more.
