Title: Break conversion on MK1
Post by: twinturbo on 12 April 2003, 10:31
This has probably been asked before, however...

We have a MK1 1.1 which I am planning to put a 1.8 16V Digifant lump into.

The breaks on 1.1 are only just up to stopping that car let alone one with over double the BHP.

So what are the options for a cheep break upgrade?

Can I use any parts from the MK2?

Cheers

Rob.

I've asked a similar question over at performance vw forum.

It looks like mk1 or mk2 gti calipers will fit but you will need gti carriers aswell.

Can you point me in the direction of the thread?

What are the carriers? The Hubs?? or are there extra mountings between the hubs and caliper.

Cheers

Rob.

Don't know what exactly you would need to do yet...
