Hi,
I had my windscreen replaced a month or two ago (annoying small stone chip right in front of the drivers view point meant it couldn't be repaired ).
I've noticed now in sport mode I'm getting a small rattle when I accelerate, perfectly fine in all other modes. I rarely get the car to myself so usually driven in Normal / Comfort with my wife and or son in the car, which is why is taken me so long to realise this.
Has anyone else had similar issues? I believe the soundaktor is physically connected to the windscreen to resonate the sound right?
I might get the windscreen company to have another look.
Thanks in advance

It is attached to the firewall not the screen. Never had an issue though as it was disabled as soon as I got my car home over 5 years ago and never been on since.

I can get dislodged I believe during a screen swap out.
You can either get it reseated or use ODB11 to disable it entirely...
If you have a later Mk7.5 you can use individual mode - set everything to sport but set the engine noise to eco. That will pretty much turn it off too.

Finally got round to getting the soundaktor unplugged!
I know its been said before but wow what a difference - the car is soo much quieter now! At first I was a little disappointed, felt like it had a lot less drama than I was used to hearing/feeling.
But now I love it, the DSG pops and crackles are much much louder (not being drowned out by fake noise), and the real engine noise that can now be heard sound real! It's not loud and shouty, but I really like it.

Two mods which greatly increase my enjoyment of ownership......unplug soundaktor and disconnect battery connection to disable stop/start. And both are free!
Incidentally, after trial and error I’ve found my perfect mode setting in Individual mode : everything on Sport except DCC which is on normal. It keeps DSG default as D but seems to give much better throttle response .... so I will not got for pedalbox on this one.
