Title: Which spec is my golf
Post by: MonkeyMan90 on 06 November 2019, 10:52
Hi guys, new to the forum and I would like to pick your brains. I am currently in the market for a mk7 Gti. Am I right in thinking all mk7 have the gen 3 ea888 engine or did they change it in 2015. Also the car I've found is a 2016 but it doesn't have heated front seats which I thought was standard on the 2015 models. Thanks in advance for your input.

Heated seats.... depends on the exact manufacture date. Golf MY's don't run to calendar years.

Heated seats (winter pack) came as a run out of the Mk7 before the Mk7.5 facelift came (which also has them). It was at some point in 2016, I want to say May?

Hi sorry my fat fingers put 2016 and I meant 2015.the car i've found is 2015 gti with performance pack and DSG with 68k on the clock full vw/independent specialist service history including regular service on gearbox. Priced at £15,700. Do you think it's worth it?

That's fairly high miles, which of course isn't actually a bad thing as long at the price reflects it. The one above is a grand more but half the mileage and some nice extras. But depends on your budget and what colour you want.

Thanks for the link. My fault i should have stated. My budget is £16k. It has to be 5 doors, ideally with DSG and PP but would consider manual with PP.

It seems there are quite a few in the market for the MK7's at the moment.

I'm at that awkward point of do I sell and get a Clubsport or another car altogether (M140i?) and save thousands or get it remapped and start modding.

My only predicament is I know I won't find a Clubsport with the spec mine has. Its got literally everything bar a sunroof.

A lot of people are looking at them now because a Mk7 is old enough now to be affordable to more people...

I sold this one to this independent as I had it up for sale a few weeks ago but no real interest.

It’s full service history by Awesome GTI and is a PP with DSG. Basic spec though unfortunately but a real nice car:

They took it off me a lot less than it’s up for so there’s movement in there.

Hi mTe what do you mean by basic spec. Like no reverse canera etc. I actually looked at that car today and was considering going to view it. Can we pm on here so I can ask you about it or is that facility not available
