Hi all,
Just ordered mtec drilled discs and mintex pads all round for my 2013 golf gti (non pp), are there any golf specific quirks to be aware of? Did the discs and pads on my s2000 with no issues but just trying to find a how to guide before I start next wknd to make sure no special tools etc are needed
Thanks in advance,
Chris

I’ve had a drilled set on my old Z4 and they made quite a droning noise under braking just to let you know.

I think the only thing that's "out of the ordinary" is the electronic handbrake. I believe you need either VCDS or OBD Eleven to retract the handbrake. I don't know if you then still need the windback tool for the rears though.

Does anyone know if obd eleven works with iPhone? Reading mixed reports of only working with android. Don’t want to buy and obd elevens only not to be able to use it.
I’ve seen you can manually retract the handbrake by removing the motor but don’t lie the sound of this.
Starting to think this May be better done by a garage then myself :embarrassed:

OBD 11 only works on Android for the foreseeable future, sadly. 😕

Apparently the carista app will perform the handbrake retraction. Anyone used this?

Carista does have this function for iOS. There are a couple of low profile bits needed to access the various bolts on the rear - I can dig out eBay links if you need.
