Hey peeps, im after an automatic gearbox to fit on a J-reg 1600cc Diesel Caddy?  :huh:
Anybody got any clue if VW produced an autobox for a Mk1? or what other VAG box would fit?

I once had a 1500 Golf GL that was auto...........bought it for spares but the car did run. Was a good box as I remember......they are out there :wink:

you can use the big block mk2 auto boxes (1600, 1800 and swap gearbox mount from your existing box') mate (might be even mk3 :huh:) but dont forget theres a lot more to change, linkage, selector, centre console, gear stick etc. not worth the hassle
