I have changed my trusty 2014 GTD with 77000 trouble free miles for a 67 plate GTI. Yes it’s one without the fog lights which really doesn’t bother me. Question is what will I miss apart from the approx 50mpg I was getting. Early indications are about 37mpg in the GTI which I consider not too shabby from a 230bhp car.
Can anyone tell me how to find out the complete spec. Eg has it got a heated windscreen. I know I asked at the dealer however I don’t have 100% confidence they know.
Cheers

The GTI is well spec'd anyway and one thing you won't miss - that 4 pot diesel!!
The TCR (and previous CS models) don't have foglights and no-one questions that so it's hardly a big deal to be honest.
Stuff that is optional that is more often spec'd is a rear camera, upgraded wheels, Dynaudio and pan roof.
I'd say rarer options are Art Velour, DCC, and upgraded nav.
Later one have more kit including lane assist and the dynamic lights/high beam stuff.

You can easily tell if you car has the heated windscreen or not.
Firstly from the outside it looks a yellow/golden colour in certain lights due to the reflective UV coating on the screen.
Secondly (and most tellingly), if you hit the AC "Menu" button (the lower half of the central wheel), if you have heated windscreen there will not only be a soft button in the lower right side of the status screen (with a logo of a windscreen), but under the "options" button, you will have a heated windscreen sub-menu which gives the option of automatically or manually activating it.
I love it

Thank you for that info
I’ve got a heated screen. No more cold hands on a frosty morning
