Title: Rear brake discs + pads
Post by: Ryan90GTI on 04 September 2019, 15:39
Looking to replace my rear discs and pads but trawling through various forums there doesn't seem to be a definitive setup like the popular CSS upgrade to the fronts.

EBC offer various kits all for around £140 with plain discs and either yellowstuff, greenstuff, redstuff pads.

Any thoughts on the above kit or any other recommendations? Thanks.

Rear brakes don't contribute that much relatively to the stopping process.
You certainly wouldn't want to upgrade the rear stopping power without increasing the front end to upset the brake balance.

Standard rear discs/pads should work, maybe upgrade rear pads to match the fronts if you have changed them.

If you want to improve stopping ability, the fronts do the work, that's where you could consider an upgrade.

I've gone for the Clubsport S discs and I'll probably go with the Clubsport S pads too on the front.

I'm a bit put off replacing the rears with OEM as they've rusted really badly.

Clubby ones are magic and rustproof?
