I am getting a creaking noise from the base area of the drivers seat when driving. Particularly when cornering/turning and this motion imparts a side-to-side loading on the seat (as my weight is being shifted sideways)...
Sounds like if might be around the runners etc, but I cannot be sure...
Any suggestions as to what we might look at to resolve...?

From your description, it sounds like you might need a visit to the osteopath!
Have you checked all the fitting bolts? I had an issue with one on a former car where it had not be tightened and there was the smallest amount of movement that on laterally loading caused it to make a creaking sound. I tightened everything up and tried again even though it didn't look like it needed it and it resolved it.

Ahh, yeah, it has that sound to it (bolt, not my back...)... Thanks for the suggestion, I'll have them have a look at that...

Mine also creaks and it seems to be the plastic sides. Also the cable under the seat creaks too.

Mine did/does this occasionally. Previously somone on here suggested pumping the height right up and then back down again a few times which seems to work. I have mine around the lowest height as I'm 6ft.

Mine got dropped off today, they order a new base for the seat I will let you know if it works, I mentioned a rattle from the dash to them also, a quick drive around the block and they heard both.

Funnily enough, mine is in today also, and they also mentioned seat base to me... I think there might have been a few seat bases with problems recently...

Hope you get it back, apparently they have the base but the wrong bolts have been supplied so its in for another day, it will atleast give them more time to sort the rattling dash, hopefully I will get a quiet car back tomorrow.

Got the car back tonight, the new base has been fitted, all looks well.

All looks well and sounds well, I wasnt tempting fate, I only had a short drive back, they were also looking into a dash rattle which was demonstrated on a short test drive but disappeared while in the work shop, Its been intermittent from day one so I am not surprised but the seat was worse.

Yes, the new seat base seems to have solved my creaky seat, also... I have given it three weeks now, and (fingers crossed) it sounds OK still...

I had this with my car it turns out there was a cracked weld on the seat base that was causing the creeking
