Title: Hard wire dash cam & airbag issue
Post by: Highland28 on 31 August 2019, 20:00
So I put the hard wire kit in for my Nextbase dashcam this afternoon. I quickly turned the ignition on to check that it powered on correctly before puttig everything back together, and stupidly didn't plug back in the key switch for the passenger airbag.
After installing everything, I now have an airbag error on the dash. Is this likely to be connected and what needs to be done to sort it?
Many thanks in advance

I did the same, it is related and you just need to clear the fault code.

Mikea, that's good to know. How did you clear the fault? I have tried with my OBD reader however this didn't show any faults.
Many thanks

Some obd readers don’t reset airbags, do you know anyone with vcds or obdeleven? Don’t go to VW as a customer did that and VW wanted £500 for investigation and reset (even after I told them just to turn it off as someone had disconnected the passenger airbag light so no actual faults)

Sounds like it is just an excuse for me to now buy OBDeleven 😀

Thanks to both of you for your help.
