errr yeah went out to my car, go to turn it over and it all turns but no ignition, really f**ked off now, had things planned for the weekend but now its all gone to sh!t.
Got a new battery as i needed one anyhow, but the started is making some very strange noises, although it is turning, so could it be not enough power going through it to turn the crank at a nice speed or am i looking at gettting all of the dizzy replaced? I f**king hate my car at the moment.

Oh dear. im guessing your car hates you too by the sound of things. I went out this morning and found the rear badge (which i replaced on sat...) missing....again...
Good luck with car

Just to add to the starter sound, it sounds like a series of short whirrs not a normal starter sound. Really hoping its just that cos i cannot be arsed to replace all of the dizzy etc.
-
Well its not the starter, should've known really.
Taken 2 plugs out, reconnected them to the leads, rested them on the engine and went to fire them up and nothing from them, no spark or owt. So which parts of the dizzy will i be needing to replace? The cap looks like new so what else is there?
-
Take the cap off whats the condition of the rotor clean it with emery paper it it's got that bluey greeny composit on it. Theres also a metal ring round the top of the inside of the cap (if that makes sense) same on that.
Doubt it'll be that though
Cracks in dizzy

If you arn't sure when the cap and arm were replaced, do it :) As well as the plugs. If that don't solve it get some new leads too!

Check for spark from the coil, if there is one, and you aren't getting a spark from any of the ht leads, then you will need to replace the hall sender in the distributor.
