I can't believe I haven't seen these before but I noticed a GTD yesterday with extra dots on with the normal DRL U's. So I thought that must be a thing I can code myself with the obdeleven, did a bit of research and voila!
Anyone else running these?

I have the inboard LED DRL dots on my 2016 previous generation Polo GTI. The car came like that from the factory when new.
-
Care to share the coding?
-
I’m sure my 2013 GTI PP came out of the factory with the dots enabled.
I’ve never checked my Clubsport, I assumed it would have the same headlight function. Maybe not? I must get round to checking.

DRL Dots:
Connect with module "09 - central electric".
Go to adaptations and change values.
"Leuchte9FL RB2-Lichtfunction C 9" to "daytime running lights" or "tagfahrlicht"
"Leuchte9FL RB2-Dimmerwert CD 9" to 100 (max 127)
"Leuchte8FL LB39-Lichtfunction C 8" to "daytime running lights" or "tagfahrlicht"
"Leuchte8FL LB39-Dimmerwert CD 8" to 100 (max 127)
Use security access code 31347 when prompted.
Mine are now both on 100, I might try 127 tomorrow to see what that looks like as imho they are slightly overpowered by the standard U DRL's...
-
Thanks, will give it a try.
-
Mine are now set to 127, might as well have the full dot!

My 2013 GTi has this from the factory

Why not code in the dual L shapes like the R has on the 7?

I don't think that's just a code...
Could be wrong though, anyone know?

Discussed back in 2014 on the forum. Not possible with existing headlamps. If it was, then I dare say there’d be members on this forum and other forums that would have done it.

You’re not wrong, a quick google suggests I’m wrong. I didn’t realise they were different hella units. Makes sense now why VW streamlined costs and gave the 7.5’s the same (bar the red/chrome insert).

Mine have been on for a few years, I like the look of them.

Popped to the shops and saw in a reflection of the car that the dots are already on. Live and learn...!
-
Having checked, they don’t come on unless the headlamps are illuminated on my Ed40CS.
I must get round to coding them in...

Maybe I coded them in previously?!? I’ve done the dimming DRL with indicators code but can’t think of anything else I’ve done to the front DRLs (Scandinavian DRLs at the rear). Either that or mine were on from the factory.

If you've enabled Scandinavian DRL's, that activates the dots at the front as well...

Mystery solved!

after reading this I thought I’d check my car.
Turns out I have these dot’s too - i like it! I’ve got a 2014 GTI, I haven’t coded it in. I presume the previous didn’t either. Must of been factory.

I coded my Scandinavian mod back in 2014 and they have been on ever since. They were not on before that I remember, nice little perk of the mod.
