hey ppl, i have managed to finally get all the brackets exactly the same as the genuine big bumper, but ive just found out that the brackets that i have got which are the ones attatched to the genuine big bumper and are rivited on, wont fit onto my NON Gen big bumper, my non gen one has the holes for the slider to screw onto or rivet it on but the holes are in a totally diff place they are closer to gether, i think they are designed for use with the small bumper sliders!! is there any mod i can do to make Genuine big bumper sliders go onto my Non Gen Big bumper please help me, thanks ppl

If I'm reading this right, you need side brackets for a non-genuine big bumper? If so PM me I have a spare set :)
-
I will buy the genuine brackets off you if you want. Have you got all the brackets for the front and back? How much would you want for them?
-
hey ppl thanks for all your help, problem all sorted,!! thanks again
-
sorry to hijack but whats the cost difference between non and genuine big bumpers and do vw still sell them
-
to be honest mate im not too sure, i must admitt that genuine ones are much less hassle than non gen,ive spent ages trying to get all genuine brackets and stuff for my non gen ones because they would stick out in the corners and not line up!! but hey all sorted now, try www.gpcvwaudi.com for lots of genuine Vw parts at low prices, watch out for there postage costs though, and phone to confirm the price

GSF bumpers are really good quality, lots of positive feedback about em. Not sure about ECP though.
If you mount em properly using the correct large brackets then they fit just as well as the genuine kit :) The way to tell:
If theres a VW part # then they're genuine (givaway )
On the unpainted textured bit, the genuine bumper has a moulding line at each corner
Genuine bumper skins are clipped to the iron, pattern parts are screwed on
Genuine bumpers have the side brackets riveted on, pattern ones are screwed in place

I need the brackets that are riveted on! I have one broken at the front and one at the back. The bumpers don't hang right and make the car look rubbish. Did you get your brackets from gpcvwaudi.com? and how much did they cost?
-
pretty sure they arn't sold seperately! I'm trying to get a replacemetn rear big bumper as mine has a hole in, so I might be able to help you out with a rear bracket, possibly 2 if they are the same as the front ones.

hey, no i didnt get the bumper brackets from GPC although im sure they are selling some on there for £1.25 ea called Deep bumper sliders?? i think, i got mine off of one in a scrappy from some one on here, not sure of his name

Think they are the ones that attach to the wing, not to the bumper itself :)
