Has anyone else heard about the new corrado that is coming out soon. When I say soon, I mean about 2007. I am not being funny but if there is anything that could temp me away from a golf, that is the car. Supposed to be about a £22K price tag on it.
I don't believe though that it is going to be called a corrado, some other name but that is what it has been designed around. Have to wait and see I suppose.

that one is a photoshop mishmash of the mk5 gti, a toyota celica and various hondas.
vw havent said anything about a new corrado, there is talk of the concept-c going to production though.. maybe that would be a replacement ?

think thats whatit is, they had something on topgear a while back...try there websitem, would have a look for ya but am i the middle fo programming a sumation programme in fortran and the brain hurts to much

A revival of a VW sports coupe is great news. Maybe I'm biased but the later model Corrados are the best looking water cooled cars VW ever made. And who could ever get tired of the automatic rear spoiler.
A new model would do wonders for the resale value of the old Corrado too. Just look at the price of a mint mk1 these days!
Yet another good reason for keeping mine looking as standard as possible.

I saw that and it was definately the Concept C; whether or not they will make the Corrado.....I hope they do
Prefer the pics from Autocar rather than the other one.

I've got to agree with AdamB here, the Corrado is probably one of the nicest looking cars that VW ever produced I could just never understand why they stopped production of it. :undecided:

blumming foreigners!!

I think VW stopped production because they regarded the Corrado as a sales flop, which may explain why it has taken so long for them to come up with a replacement. With a very expensive price tag in its day, the total sales of around 97000 were not surprising. The shortage in sales has garuanteed it's rarity value though, and with an occasional mint Corrado Storm going for more than 10k, it's worth keeping an eye out for one.
I'm certainly holding on to mine.

I love corrado's they look really modern and dont look out of place now! and ur right that automatic spoiler would entertain me alone. I one day aspire to own one, a VR6!!
They should put that 1.4 supercharged turbo in the new one, keep with the supercharged theme like the G60, and then with the engine out of the R32, how could would that be!

AdamB: they corrado was one of the best sellers that VW ever made but at the time they were going through some financial difficulty and that was why they decided to stop making it for some wierd reason. Possibly as the golf, polo etc had been getting made for years and they already had a future planned for them and some of the other cars.
It was on the cover of auto car that I saw it aswell.

79ronnie - I'd have agreed with you there, I couldn't understand how such a great car could be seen as a sales flop. But, I read that on a corrado fan site and from a Top Gear report. I suppose the sales figures over it's production run could easily be mistaken for a flop though - 97000 worldwide over about 8 years!. Either way, it's still a fantastic car and a definate future classic.

well you may know more than me, :embarassed: but I still cannot wait till it is re-released. It should give the golf a run for it's money,
