Title: Miss fire

Hi I'm new to the group  I have a W reg GTI sometimes it will drive along for miles and miles fine then all of a sudden it would just die out like the fuels been cut and all of a sudden with a little cough and splatter  it'll pick up again any ideas

When was it last serviced and the fuel filter changed?
