give it a good wax (not the same as polish) keep rinsing it over the bad weather period, as for wheels a bit of vasoline on them will keep em nice and tidy over the winter  ;)

ive been madly putting wax on my car all through the summer.. so hopefully i have quite a lot of wax to protect the paint work, and do what ash said about rinsing regularly..

wax or vasoline will help keep the dirt from clinging on to the wheels, and the dirt should just rinse off as well from them.
