So I’ve seen a few before on Mk7 and member Wide in Sweden seemed to have this.. analogue clock in the centre screen when the media is off. Read it’s as simple as ticking a box in the settings but I’m fairly sure I don’t have the option.
Spotted this in evo on the TCR vs Megane review
Anyone else managed to do get this?

Yes. The bigger question is can I remember how... pretty sure it was a menu option. Not near the car now to investigate.
-
Can’t remember where it is Jim, but it is a choice in the menu, somewhere. I’ll have a look tonight, if you’re still stuck. 🙂
-
Mine is set to do it.... can't remember how - its in the menus somewhere.
-
Mine does it as default. I’ve not had to change/tick anything.

I’m actually away at the moment but would be good to know how!

Mine also is there by default. Are there options then?

Yes, you can have the clock or, err, nothing at all. 😁

Settings
Screen
Show clock in standby mode (tick or untick, then you have a choice of four clocks which are all more attractively designed than the AID dials in the 7.5)

In my Polo GTI with the previous generation MIB2 infotainment unit, to get the clock to display on the infotainment screen, you press the ‘Menu’ button, and then go to the ‘Set Up’ menu and select ‘Display’. You’ll see an option to ‘Display time in standby mode’; touch the tick box, and the clock should now be displayed when the infotainment system is turned off with the ignition on.
I’m assuming it’ll be the same or similar process in the mk7.5 Golf with an MIB3 infotainment unit.

Thanks, will check this out when I’m back. Think I’d looked in display settings before. Thought I’d checked out the options but could well have missed this!

On the Mk7 nav pro when the screen is off you swipe left or right to change the clock.

Same with the basic nav MIB2
Assuming the MIB3 is the same. I’ll check my son’s tomorrow.

In clock menu tick standby box and hey presto

Checked my son’s Ibiza MIB3 yesterday and it’s the same.
The same as my MIB2, the “show clock on lock screen” needs to be scrolled down to as it’s just off screen. The clocks are different on his Ibiza, the Golf MIB2 designs are quite conservative and look better to me, the Ibiza MIB3 clocks are more funky and bright in some of the options.

Didn’t know about the choice of clocks. All much nicer designs than the classic on the older units. Prefer to run mine with the sports dials showing power, boost and oil temperature, though. 😎

Finally found it! 😃
Not sure I’d been in settings off the main menu
