Title: TCR Seat Belts
Post by: 09GTI on 30 May 2019, 21:01
Just wondering if anyone knows if the seats belts in the TCR have the red stitching like the club sport ?
I’ve seen some in pictures both with and without so not sure what’s standard

The one I saw recently had plain black as you can see when you zoom in on the picture.

Not seen any in flesh with any red stitching on the belts - to be honest, there is more than enough red accents so its probably good if there is not, definitely not something personally thought to as a need

AGB has his already, just being detailed so maybe he can shed light on what he has?

They're black if I recall. Would be too busy with the seat pattern otherwise.

Not all Clubsports have the red seatbelt edging either. Mine doesn’t.

I’ve definitely seen pictures of a few with the red seat belt edging
So perhaps same as club sport not consistent , my club sport has them
I’ve also seen the launch presentation and it says they are standard

My Clubsport S has red piping. My TCR's belts are black. There was no configuration option on the TCR but to be honest, black belts suit the interior of the TCR better due to the amount of colour on the seats. The CSS is more subtle and has strands of colour which tie in with the red edging on the belts.

Extract of text from media presentation:

“the contrasting colour “Flashred” on a black background. Also featuring this red colour: the stitching on the seats, the centre armrest (front) and headrests, as well as seat belt edges and contrasting seams on the door trims, the DSG gearshift and the three-spoke sports steering wheel. This is not the only reason why the latter conveys a pure racetrack feeling: As an analogy to the TCR racing series, the leather cover is specially imprinted (perforated leather) at the 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock positions, as well as with a red 12 o’clock mark. Like the seats, the door inserts and the gearshift cover are made of microfibre. Meanwhile, the “Flashred” of the seats and seams is incorporated by the standard ambient lighting in the door sills and the colour graphics of the likewise free- of-charge “Composition Media” infotainment system and”

Not sure but some markets might differ. This happened with the U.K. CSS beng different from other markets.

How strange that some do and some don't.

On the CS it was spec related, with both leather and the bucket seats providing the red accent on the seat belt. I suspect there is an option on the TCR that’s doing it but I haven’t looked close enough to know which one.

Does say here https://www.volkswagen-newsroom.com/en/golf-gti-tcr-the-driving-presentation-4573/equipment-the-configuration-of-the-golf-gti-tcr-4578

But might not be UK market specific.
