Title: Good deal on diskloks at the moment!
Post by: Phuture on 26 May 2019, 07:03
Hey everyone, just noticed that euro car parts have an offer on this weekend, just picked up a disklok, steering wheel cover and case for 95 quid!

https://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car-accessories/car-safety-and-car-security/security-locks/steering-lock/?549991210&0&cc5_137&awc=3997_1558850343_cae758c4290aa0ffca0a225efb00d1b8&utm_source=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.digidip.net%2F&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_term=ecp+homepage&utm_content=awin+traffic&utm_campaign=Discount+Code

Hope this helps if your in the market for one.

I'd literally just got one from the main website but going to cancel the order and send it back, saves me 30 quid.

£80 is a great price, thanks OP! I’ve just bought one to replace my old one which is now 17 years old. Tests last year said Disklok had improved previous attack weaknesses, so at £80 this is a great buy.

Anyone buying one for the first time, I would strongly recommend the steering wheel bra/cover which protects the wheel when putting/taking the Disklok on/off.

£80 to protect a +£30k car. No brainer.

Yup, wanted to get one in preparation for when it arrives. Was looking at ghost also but think I'm just going to use a disklok and get a dashcam fitted. Got enough to pay out for next month as it is lol

Glad the deal helps people!

Anybody else who ordered actually received theirs?

I rang ECP today as I've not received it or even had a dispatch email, and apparently it's "Out of stock", but it will be fulfilled when they are back in stock. I pointed out that when I ordered it was showing as In Stock, but that fell on deaf ears.

Glad I've got my old one to tide me over.

I just called them before to have the exact conversation. As you say it was in stock on the website. Very disappointed to not have recieved an email or text explaining the situation.

Receive this 'holding' email, shortly after my call to them saying I hadn't been notified...

Can't really see the point in having a bin lid rattling around in the car while driving, most cars have enough rattles without adding to them. Just to say I live in Durham where car theft is virtually non existent compared to somewhere like Birmingham 🤷‍♂️

I always wondered the story with these. I leave my car unlocked with the keys in the ignition. Guess that’s just a pro of living in rural Ireland !

The Disklok finally arrived this morning, and on first inspection it looked pretty much identical to my old Disklok (which I bought circa 2002), but after closer inspection it's interesting to see the subtle differences between the two and where they have changed things presumably for security/weakness improvement.

I won't list the changes on here (for obvious reasons), but the biggest difference is the new one closes/locks on the smallest gap 3, where as the old one closed/locked on gap 2, this means the new one is snugger and some of the natural openings are also covered up.

If you have an old Disklok, then this is seemingly worth the upgrade.

Lucky you, Disklock purchased before GTI arrived (thanks to this site for confirming correct size with DSG Paddles). Had one on Discovery for a few years, great bit of kit. If stowed correctly in the bag, no rattles

Nice one mate, glad you got it in the end!
