Hi
Anyone out there got an Oryx White MK7 or 7.5 with powder coated wheels?
Any pics would be appreciated please.
Cheers.

If the 19" Pretorias are powder coated then yes I have an Oryx White Golf R with Pretorias. Once confirmed I can see if I can get a free moment to post a pic or two, unless someone else beats me to it. Although I must advise you will not see any difference between Pure White and Oryx White on a pic, as photos don't show the pearl effect of Oryx White very well.

You might want to say what colour you want to see as powder coating is just a process

Thanks guys.
Yes sorry was really just looking for ideas on what peoples colour choices etc were when powder coating their wheels on a white golf. I have an Oryx White GTI Performance with Bresica 19" wheels. Having them powder coated next week at The Wheel Specialists, was going for Flash Chrome.
Thought if I saw some pictures of similar Golfs that had been powder coated it might help me finally decided on what I will go for.
Thanks again.

IMO anthracite grey goes well with most paint colours, especially white or red where it gives a nice contrast.
If you do a Google search on ‘White Golf with anthracite alloys’, there are lots of images.

Cheers I'll check them out.

My old PP with shiny BBS silver (not quite chrome look but not far off)

Thanks m8, appreciated.
I like the BBS silver, want something that stands out like the diamond cuts but obv powder coating isn't going to recreate that but would like something near as possible I think.

The colour of the pretoria alloys is a really nice colour when matched up with oryx white paint on a golf. I have had diamond cut 'Austin' rims and more recently pretoria's and I have to say once I got the Golf R with the Pretorias I actually preferred the look of the Chrome Blue colour on the Pretorias next to the Oryx White paint of my Golf, when compared to the finish of the Austins on my previous Golf which was also Oryx White.

Thanks m8. Appreciated.

I’ve recently had my Santiagos powder coated in smoked chrome on my white gti, don’t regret it one bit they look great in my opinion, sorry but I don’t know how to upload pics, they are much easier to live with then the diamond cut finish.

These are 19" BBS SR wheels in what BBS call "Himalayan Grey". It's a satin colour and looks really good (in my opinion, of course). Are you set on powder coating? Getting wheels painted is as easy and although powder coating is supposedly more durable, if you introduce them to a kerb, both would be trashed so you'd have a much greater choice of colours with painting.

@Gnasher; BBS SR’s in Himalayan Grey are my favourite aftermarket wheels and they look great on your white GTI. They look quite OEM too IMO.

Thanks everyone appreciate you taking the time to respond. Given me a few ideas to think about. Nothing set in stone yet as to paint or powder coating. More concerned at this stage in getting a finish that works well with the Oryx White & of a similar finish (as possible) to the original diamond cut.

I had the Tigs wheels painted black as opposed to powdercoated. The rear ones suffered stone chips within the first couple of weeks. They were easy enough to touch in and they've had none since, so it seems it takes a while for the paint to fully harden. Perhaps an old school bodyshop that will use 2 pack paint would be a good option.

Wowsers, those wheels look fantastic. Really really suit the GTI and so much nicer than any of the OEM options! They are a decent price as well.

Thanks very much to both of you. There's a multitude of reasons I went for them...
1. They look quite OEM.
2. They're one of the cheapest genuine BBS wheels out there.
3. The colour suits the car to a T (in my opinion).
4. No spacers required to get pretty close to perfect fitment.
Shame I've kerbed one of them and (along with the rear quarter) scraped another one down a fence. Off to get 2 refurbed ASAP.
Anyway, apologies to the OP for straying off topic lol

Cheers everyone. All appreciated. I'm going back to the Wheel Specialists on Saturday & see what other option they do before making a final decision.
