Hi All,
I'm not the most clued up with the options log and I wanted to utilize people's knowledge of the car. I was told by a friend that it was 2015 that AppConnect was introduced as an option but browsing PistonHeads for a GTI, I've seen one that is 2014/64 plate and it has the AppConnect but with the upgraded screen size.
Would someone be able to confirm when it was introduced?

I would say it was from September 2015...
Which is far too late for a 64 plate unless they have had the MIB replaced....

I'm thinking that I'd rather have one with it specced on instead of a retrofit more because of just finding the time

You are looking at probably a 65 plate or later then.
Its a good feature I must say, opens up a load of modern possibilities.

It was Week 22 of 2015 that is was introduced. So cars built from that week onwards.

Thanks Fred and KM, I'll keep an eye out for that year onward.

Yes, it was a 2016 model year change, so ties in with week 22 changes in 2015 which is when VW would have started building the 2016 MY Golf, and (I think) the MIB2 version of the infotainment started to be fitted.
