Title: how to get more power from my GTI
Post by: no name on 27 October 2003, 14:53
Hello you all...
I live in Israel and I have a golf GTI 16v mk2 (KR engine 139hp) year model 1990. I would like to get more power out of it so I need you?re advice.
I know about 3 options:
1. To buy a kit of pistons and crankshaft that raises it from 1.8L to 2.0L and the power to 165hp
2. To turbo charge it, but then it will loose the smoothness and linearity of an atmospheric engine
3. To buy an Audi TT 180 or 225hp engine instead

What is the best option?
You see, my engine has had 120k mile already and the valve seals leak oil, so should I change it or re built it?
Thanks
