Title: Revo Performance Pack
Post by: Jim_mk7.5 on 20 March 2019, 13:51
Revo have just announced a Performance Pack for MQB cars. The Revo MQB 2.0 TSI IS20 Performance Pack

Circa 350bhp for the GTI. Plenty of ££££'s though. And don't think you'll pass an MOT after!

Can't see an mot being a problem unless I'm missing something

Downpipe. Won't pass with that I wouldn't imagine? Might be wrong.

Small print "Performance data is taken from 2018 VW Golf GTI Mk7 with DSG" - how is that possible when a non PP 2018 GTI is 230ps?

As per the other thread, looking at the power graphs I'm 100% sold on the Stage 1 for my 245P, but I can't for the life of me find anybody who's had it done (here or the US), nor anybody (including REVO!) able to substatiate the power figures being quoted.

Plus, all their TCU maps are for the old 6sp DSG box, not the 7sp.

I don't want to say this is all hopes & dreams, but until there's actual cars out there, it's all too much of a punt.

Right then...

1. It'll pass an MOT with that downpipe as it's got a sports cat in it.

2. Maybe there's a reason the 7 speed DSG doesn't need a map - from what I'd heard previously, lots of the tuners are stating it doesn't really need it.

3. I somehow doubt REVO would put a product out there that's not had a lot of R&D put into it on multiple test cars over lots of miles. You'll not be the test cars - it's already done!

Although somehow I reckon a manual car would need a clutch as well but apart from that, looks like a good "one stop" setup.

I wonder if they go "next level" with the IS38 turbo or even the IS38ETR offering? You'll be looking at 450BHP with the ETR version - admittedly, we all know that's waaaaaaay too much power in a FWD chassis, but it'd be fun trying to tame it lol.

You say it's way too much power... but it is? How about a 540bhp Clubsport.....

I got a Revo stage 1 on my Mk7 pp. Mine is manual and has had a updated clutch.

The difference after the new clutch is massive. Actually didn't feel like it had been mapped on the old clutch.

Revo quote between 300-330bhp and I'm sure it's not far from that. Certainly feels it. All I can compare it to is my previous car which was a MK2 focus RS with 350bhp and it doesn't feel that far off the pace of that.
