Title: More praise for the Mk7.5 from Chris Harris..
Post by: Jim_mk7.5 on 16 March 2019, 08:47
An amusing Harris fast walk round buying guide video but the Golf gets a big thumbs up

My last car the Merc C Class even gets the nod in the small exec category. What to get next year....

The MK7 and 7.5 have been so good. Let’s just hope they don’t slip up with the MK8.

How VW lost their way with the MK3 springs to mind......

The Golf is one of those cars where you step into it for the first time and it's like you've been driving it for years.Everything is just 'right'.Had mine for 3.5 years now and it hasn't missed a beat.Just does everything perfect.

He knows his stuff does Mr Harris. Agree that the 7/7.5 is a great car.

I’m no Harris fanboy but I share his SUV sentiments!

It’s difficult to understand their popularity. Big, heavy, thirsty unwieldy things, expensive to buy and run.
Just what a good hot hatch isn’t.

Yeah but if everyone bought the same car the world would be boring. Might not be everyone's choice but lots of others buy them.

I was planning on getting a Tiguan R Line on my most recent change and would have like a shot if it wasn’t such a pain in the ass to get down my drive and into the garage

I'm not much of an SUV fan either however there are some nice looking models out there these days - Q2/Q3 (S line trim), Tiguan & T-Roc (R Line trim) and X2 (admittedly a bit marmite). They do give you a bit more space if you need it over a hatch. Problem is the engine choice which is either diesel (I wouldn't these days), small petrol (weedy) or more powerful petrol (v poor real world economy).

The T-Roc is probably the only SUV I'd ever consider. However they don't have the engine power..... but that will change when the T-Roc R comes in the Autumn. https://www.carwow.co.uk/volkswagen/news/3783/vw-t-roc-r-price-specs-release-date
