Title: 1.8t cost
Post by: TIM20 on 11 October 2005, 21:46
just a quick question what kind of cost is a 1.8t agu cost?  no gear box just bits to complete a qpeng conversion

also has anyone got any idea of a mk3 cable change box and the associated bits, not the pedal box though

Cheers Tim

lumps go for anything between £600 and £1200.

any idea of a box? do you mean what you need? you just need the shifter and the gearbox. if you're using cable clutch you'll need to convert the box.

sorry i meant the cost of the box and bits to convert it?

Also does anyone have any recomendations for good sources for the 1.8t engine, eg good reliable breakers etc

well im off to see a black early mk2 tomorrow, i have got a late mk2 and thought the sale of one might (cost depending) be able to fund a 1.8t conversion.

Thing is if i do something i want to do it well, so don't really want a gear box etc that cant compe with the increased power torque etc.  Just trying to cost it up and see if i can afford to do it properly.

If not i will wait and just run my 16v untill i have saved up a bit.

Also want to do it myself as a challenge not just drive in then out kind of thing (also can't afford it)
