Title: Red Strip light on door not working

Hi,

I noticed last night that the red strip light on the door on the drivers side of my GTI is not working. The passenger one and the ones on the sills are all fine.

Has anyone had the same problem? If so, was it an easy fix? The car is out of warranty.

When mine went in warranty the dealer did a change while I waited - a whole 15 mins so should be a simple job to change. Cant help with prices or how to remove but I guess it just lifts out with a trim tool.

I’ve seen them second hand on eBay. I’ve read before that they break.

Great, thanks for your replies. It doesn't sound like it's a big/expensive job. I'll call around and see what sort of money it's going to be to fix it.
