Title: ACC obscured by snow Mk7.5
Post by: fredgroves on 28 January 2019, 15:48
Is it just me or is the Mk7.5's behind the badge ACC radar more likely to clog up with snow than the old Mk7 grill placed one?

In only light snow I find it flags up as obscured and disables ACC...

I'd have thought it less likely to clog, plus its supposed to be heated...

I wonder if its not even the sensor getting covered in snow, but it actually able to see the snow on the radar returns and disables itself.

Any ideas?

The pre FL is heated but the newer badge ones aren't, at least that's what I was told by the dealer master tech 🤷‍♂️

That would explain it....

If it's snowing I wouldn't be wanting to use ACC, so maybe it's no bad thing.

Depends on the conditions tbh.

If there isn't snow on the road and its not looking like there will be soon... its useful to keep the speed down and a sensible (maximum) distance behind the vehicle in front IMHO.

Yup, I had ACC errors tonight... barely any snow!
