i bought an 8v engine for my mk2 for a 2ltr bottom end

my mate has a 1600 mk3 i think its one of those single point injection ones, anyway he wants the cam outa my gti engine will it fit even though the heads look different.

if not how much is a mk3 gti head worth with cam and manifolds

I think the cam will fit as both engines are 8v.

i thought that but the head on the 1600 has the dizzy in it which looks like its controlled by the cam whereas the gti has it in the bottom end

i know it fits the 1.8 8v driver engine so can't see why not. Don't know what profile differences there are though?
