just noticed after a drive on wet roads how badly the headlights have misted, and was wondering if this is normal or not.(https://i.postimg.cc/XJQQFQG4/car-1.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/mz1YW3y5)(https://i.postimg.cc/x1ZkkHTh/car.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/QFpNwF7J)

I wonder if this is due to lack of heat given out by LED bulbs?
-
I've noticed it on mine a few times.
Don't think it's anything to worry about, seems to clear and not affect anything.
-
It's nothing to do with heat, as whilst heat will evaporate the moisture, it has no escape from the sealed light units, so will just reform as water droplets when it cools down. Stuff a couple of silica gel bags into the headlight through the bulb access appature to suck up the trapped moisture and all will be good.

When I picked up my Mk7 after being sat on a forecourt for a couple of weeks the lights were misted up. But soon cleared after just using the car for a couple of days.

Been discussed countless times, perfectly normal and nothing to worry about.
-
I've had that on mine recently quite a few times. Seems only to occur right at the bottom same as Alex's pictures.
Can actually see it on both headlights in this picture I posted in another thread this weekend.. Don't think much to worry about as disappears. That said, mine don't seem as bad as yours.

I must admit when I first saw this post I thought it said 'Headlight missing' Had to double take, worst PDI ever!

I’ve had this on my GTi for the last five years. It’s perfectly normal for them as they are not sealed units.
My wife’s 2018 passat has the swiveling premium LED headlights and is the exact same.

As others have already said. Nothing to be concerned with. All three of my Mk7’s have done it and all have sorted themselves out in a couple of weeks or so  👍

Ok thanks glad I'm not the only one and that it's a normal thing.

These two pictures of your car are superb!
Excellent work and a gorgeous car

They are only zoomed in snapshots taken with my iPhone
It’s amazing how good most modern phone cameras have become in the last few years
Thanks 👍
