Title: WLTP Registration Block!!!!
Post by: Hamc on 29 November 2018, 11:14
So I ordered a Golf GTI performance mid July, I was informed at the time 3 months. Obviously 3 months was not going to happen but finally my car is in transit to the UK, the dealer say it will be with them in 1-2 weeks. The downside, they say they will not be allowed to register the car until week 3 of January because of the WLTP block even though it will be sat 10 mins away from where I live. Anyone else experiencing this?

There is a lot of us here who have ordered and in the same boat.

Personally I won't be waiting till March for the sake of a 19 plate and an extra couple hundred quid value when it comes to trade in time. I'd rather be enjoying the car straight away than it be stagnate for 6 months after being built.

Yeah it's just annoying knowing it's just paperwork preventing me from driving a car I've waited almost 6 months for. I'm sure others have had it worse than me but it's very frustrating.

I'm in the same situation, order in early June and now in transit.

I may look at delaying til March but I just want to drive my new baby!!

Has anyone spoke to dealers about compensation/service packs etc?

I did . I asked for a free service pack. Still waiting on a decision. My car is apparently waiting for a ship allocation, so must have passed Wtlp?

I'll be interested to know how you get on. I'm assuming the dealer will get some form of compensation from VW for the delays.

No just means it's going to be shipped and then stored until certification comes through.
